Mission Statement |
|
The mission of the athletics program is to support the
educational mission of Wells College. The Department of
Athletics hold that participation in sport is an integral part
of the culture in which we live and the values inherent in sport
are parallel to those developed within the framework of a
liberal arts education. We focus on providing an outstanding
athletic experience that is designed to positively influence the
life of every participant.
Wells College seeks to provide an equitable, diverse, and
competitive intercollegiate athletic program that is properly
administered, educationally sound, and a resource for enhancing
community on campus. All members of the Department of Athletics
and student athletes are expected to conduct themselves with the
utmost integrity, ethical behavior and sportsmanship and comply
with Wells College, the NCAA and NEAC policies.

EXPRESS OPEN NEW YEAR WITH 83-63 VICTORY OVER NITTANY LIONS
January 4, 2010
Abington, PA-
The Wells College
men’s basketball team opened the New Year with a decisive 83-63
win over Penn St. Abington on Monday evening in Abington, PA.
Darrell Bullock led five different Express players in double
figures with 23 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Joshua
Howard paced the Nittany Lions with 16 points and 10 rebounds in
the loss. The Express improve to 6-4, while the Nittany Lions fall
to 1-8 on the season.

BULLOCK SELECTED AS NEAC MEN'S BASKETBALL STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE
WEEK

NY- Darrell Bullock
(Chicago, IL) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Basketball
Student-Athlete of the Week. Bullock, a senior guard for the
Wells basketball team, was selected for his
outstanding performance in his lone game against conference
rival, Cazenovia College. Bullock dominated the game scoring a
season-high 30 points, while adding 9 assists, 8 rebounds, and 3
steals in the 105-80 win. Bullock shot 4-6 from the free throw
line and had an amazing .765 shooting percentage from the field.

EXPRESS ROLL TO DOMINATING VICTORY OVER CAZENOVIA

NY-
The Wells
College men’s basketball team rolled to a dominating 105-80 win
over the visiting Cazenovia College Wildcats on Wednesday night
at Wells. The Express had five different players score in double
digits en route to the 25 point victory. With the win the
Express improve to 5-4, while Cazenovia remains winless at 0-7.

CARNAHAN SELECTED AS NEAC SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

NY-Senior Court Carnahan
(Rochester, NY) was selected as the NEAC
Men’s Swimming and Diving Student-Athlete of the Week for his
outstanding effort this week leading the
Wells College Express in a dual against
Kings College. The senior finished 1st
in the 200 yard Freestyle with a time of
2:16.66 and 1st in the 500
yard Freestyle with a time of 6:34.31, while helping his team
win 1st
in the 400 yard Freestyle Relay with a
time of 4:09.44. The Express defeated Kings 122-23 on Saturday
afternoon.
