Directions 

Directions to the Wells Campus
Aurora is located on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake in central New York, about 50 miles southwest of Syracuse. The New York State Thruway (Interstate Route 90) is 25 miles to the north. Route 17 (the Southern Tier Expressway and the future I-86) is approximately 50 miles to the south. Route I-81 is 30 miles to the east. 

From New York City and Long Island:  From the George Washington Bridge, follow I-80 west to I-380 west to Scranton, PA.  Follow I-380 west to I-81 north to Binghamton.  Take I-81 to Homer exit (#12); make a right at the end of the exit ramp onto Route 281 north; a left onto Route 90 (very soon after turning on to Route 281); take local 90 to Aurora (approximately 40 miles). 

From the New York State Thruway and traveling West:  Exit at Weedsport (#40); make a right onto Route 34 south to Auburn; make a right onto Routes 5 & 20 west and a left onto Route 326 to the village of Union Springs; turn left on local Route 90 to Aurora. 

From the New York State Thruway and traveling East:  Exit at Waterloo (#41); turn right at the tollbooth and turn left again onto Route 318.  Make a left onto Routes 5 & 20 east; then a right onto local Route 90 through the villages of Cayuga and Union Springs to Aurora. 

From Route 17 and traveling West:  Take I-81 to Homer exit (#12); make a right at the end of the exit ramp onto Route 281 north; a left onto Route 90 (very soon after turning onto Route 281); take local 90 to Aurora (approximately 40 miles). 

From Route 17 and traveling East:  Exit at Route 13 (#54) north to Ithaca; exit off of Route 13 onto Route 34 north to Lansing; make a left onto Route 34B; make another left onto Route 90 in King Ferry; nine miles to Aurora. 
 

From Areas Out-of-State 

From New Jersey:  Follow I-80 west to I-380 west to Scranton, PA.  Follow I-380 west to I-81 north to Binghamton.  Take I-81 to Homer exit (#12); make a right at the end of the exit ramp onto Route 281 north; a left onto Route 90 (very soon after turning on to Route 281); take local 90 to Aurora (approximately 40 miles). 

From Massachusetts and points in New England:  Follow the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) west into New York State.  Continue on I-90 (which turns into the New York State Thruway) in New York to exit 40 (Weedsport).  Make a right onto Route 34 south to Auburn; make a right onto Routes 5 & 20 west and a left onto Route 326 to the village of Union Springs; turn left on local Route 90 to Aurora. 

From Maryland/DC and southern states:  Follow I-95 north to I-695 around Baltimore.  Take I-83 north to Harrisburg, PA.  In Harrisburg exit from I-83 to I-81 north.  Take I-81 north to Homer, NY exit (#12); make a right at the end of the exit ramp onto Route 281 north; a left onto Route 90 (very soon after turning on to Route 281); take local 90 to Aurora (approximately 40 miles). 

By Air:  There are airports in Ithaca (Tompkins-Cortland Regional), Syracuse (Hancock Field), and Rochester (Rochester International).  Flights on US Air arrive in Ithaca from major cities of the northeast.  Both Syracuse and Rochester, each approximately one hour from campus, are served by the nation’s major airlines and have direct flights and connections everywhere in the United States and abroad.  Symposium participants will be able to arrange for transportation to campus from any of these airports.  There is a fee for this service. 
 

The Region 
Wells College is on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake, the longest of New York's beautiful Finger Lakes. Leave some time for sightseeing when you come to Wells - we are within an hour's drive of many of the attractions that have made this area a center of tourism. There are several state parks, including Taughannock Falls with its 215-foot waterfall, and Fair Haven, on the shore of Lake Ontario. Corning Glass Center in Corning, more than twenty wineries, the city of Ithaca, and the National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls are all easily accessible from Wells. You'll enjoy the natural beauty and rich history of the Finger Lakes area. 

The campus is located at the southern end of Aurora, a picturesque village listed on the New York State Register of Historic Sites. Aurora offers opportunities for shopping, dining, and entertainment. 
 

Ground Transportation

Wells College is located approximately 60 minutes from the Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) http://www.syrairport.org/, approximately 75 from the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) http://www.monroecounty.gov/airport-index.php, and approximately 30 minutes from the Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport (ITH) http://www.flyithaca.com/.  Rental cars are available.  Shuttle service by the Wells College Transportation Department is available at the following rates:

Ithaca $30 one-way and $60 round trip

Syracuse and Rochester $60 one-way and $120 round trip
